RIDDY
(USA, 2008) Director: Dan Millstein
Drama, English, 9 minutes
World Premiere
Student Film
SYNOPSIS
Riddy portrays the life of Jeff Ridanski, a young boy who struggles to accept his diagnosis of ADHD. As he grows older, he is forced to either cope with social pressure to be "normal" or remain true to himself.
FROM THE DIRECTOR
"This is a particularly personal story for me, as I shared many of Jeff's obstacles growing up with ADD in a social atmosphere that often views the condition as a joke or an excuse. For those affected, this can often cause a desire to stifle their behavior in order to fit in. I encourage these people to embrace their identity and try to find positive outlets for their energy--in Jeff's case, painting, and in mine, filmmaking."
